About the site
This fanlisting was adopted from Amanda and opened here on August 11, 2005. For more about Maedhros and why I like him, please refer to the "About" section.You have no idea how hard this seemingly simple layout was to come up with. Basically, I suffered from a layout block for ages - it happens when you want the best for a certain FL. Everything falls short of expectations. As it is, I was taking far too much time, and I happened to chance upon this picture by luck. It is reminiscent of the scene of the rescue by eagle.
Russandol is Maedhros's nickname, presumably used by those closer to him. It was the name of this FL before I adopted it - I thought it rather apt, and so it stays.
As for the URL, Maitimo is yet another of his names (his mother-name, in fact), meaning "well-shaped one". It was chosen for nostalgic purposes. :)
Credits
The image used was found at Annon nan Galadh. The pattern in the background was found at squidfingers. Information was obtained from The Encyclopedia of Arda, Wikipedia and what I remember from The Silmarillion and The Peoples of Middle-earth, The History of Middle-earth volume 12.
